From your posts, it would appear that you have issues with your connection. Our live support staff still help online, you can set up a chat or a callback and they will talk you through the troubleshooting steps they believe will help solve your issues, that said from time to time if an issue will require some time for you to troubleshoot and test they may send you on all the information in an email and ask that you work through it in your own time and contact us back.
Again, this further hints at you having connection issues. Please do run through the steps I linked you above and do share your UO Trace so that we can take a look at how your information is being routed. It's great to hear that you do not have issues with others but if your system and network are not set up correctly for Origin then you can still have issues.
Just because one thing works does not mean that another will and you may need to do some troubleshooting. For example, it may be a case that you have not opened the ports that Origin uses.
Origin is freely available and distributed on origin. As for support the Origin team work tirelessly to address any bugs and issues that arise and as you will see from reading the forums most issues are solved with some basic troubleshooting steps.
November - last edited November This is a constant problem with minimal users in your areas and not being able to play globally. I Got BF1 on pre release so had all the updates installed, It has been a constant pain in the never regions espicially on Fridays having to do the updates taking all weekend. Now I would just rather go with out any updates it does not improve performance anymore anyway.
Removing the cache was only ever a temporary fix as was reinstalling the game again. Shared many times no action ever. Just an email to get you off the chat and get you to go through the same stuff every time.
There are lots of people out there that have no issues on Origin platform and yet there are still loads out there that do the forum is full of people having issues and some are solved yet many others remain open with no conclusion. Have you followed the steps I linked you to, you need to do both the connection troubleshooting and the steps for issues with slow downloads. To test your belief that there are issues with Origin speeds that affect all users I went ahead and downloaded Battlefield 4, it took me under 15 minutes to complete the download of Speedtests are not theoretical speeds and are based on the transfer download and upload of data on a pc to server base, these are as close as you get to real speeds all be it they may have some variation of a longer period.
No I didn't follow your contact support and download the UOTrace I am fed up doing it with never any follow up its a complete waste of my time. What I will do though as its not the weekend is uninstall BF1 and let it download for the next couple of days. Will post here an image of how slow downloading is You seem to think that the issue is Origin but I have demonstrated that it is not, my Origin download speeds are vastly higher then your Steam downloads and while you are free to continue blaming Origin and suffer slow speeds, if you do want to get the issue sorted then you will need to follow the steps I linked you to.
Thanks for your reply. Even if Steam download is 0. I am not the only user experiencing problems with the downloads issue. You can visit a number of posts on this forum. But as I have paid for numerous games and forced to use the Origin platform I will have to attempt again to find out the reason why this is still happening years after it was first reported. I will give support there pound of flesh again and see if anybody does contact me back after we have tried all the usual suspects.
Nice to meet you, hope you are doing well and we understand that you've created this case for Origin, can you tell us more about it?
Checked download speeds and pings using Speed test. Support I see have you already controlled the download speed on Origin you Controlled? Choose between various download speeds inside or outside of gameplay, or completely turn off downloads while in-game. If you would be so kind as to look through the OUTrace and please give me any feedback.
Help us improve Answers HQ! Take Survey No, Thanks. March Good for you. But it's a captive Platform. Want to Play Mass Effect 3? Guess where it's available? Hint: No hint required. As to failures, go over to steam and look at all the crap doom and gloom posts. Could EA be doing better? Do they need to? I don't think they feel like they do. Which is a shame.
Origin is NOT a competitor to a steam, it's like a shop who posts rules on their wall, and people only put up with it because they own Bioware. And even then, the shine is sure as Squick coming off that rose. Message 2 of 6 3, Views. Re: Why is Origin such a bad piece of software [ Edited ]. March - last edited March I do think they need to do better. Message 3 of 6 3, Views. March Steam has some pretty heavy problems too, but they had the benefit of being first. I do agree that Origin should be hardened severely.
I agree they have massive problems. Unlike steam, they have to deal with linking and unlinking from console profiles, and I feel like this is a field where they could be leaders, and instead hold to a pre mentality. And even then, you are placed in a Queue, which is not interactive, and if you poke at that beehive, you can only run into more problems. Face it you guys failed, Steam is what everybody uses so accept it.
There is no reason for every other game company to make a carbon copy of Steam for themselves because all it does is frustrate people by having to have several different companies horrible digital distribution software on there computer not to mention the confusion of having several different user names and passwords, i once liked alot of your games but now i dont play them because i dont want to have to clutter up my computer with the software, and make several different profiles; does it seriously have to get to the point where you have 10 games from different companies along with 10 different icons for distribution software on your desktop before someone realizes its a bad idea?
Go to Solution. Steam is owned by Valve. Valve is a competitor of EA. It's sort of pointless. View in thread. I agree. So silly EA to ruin fun, you are afterall a games company and to my mind games must be fun or i'll stop playing!
I have a lot of games on Steam, never had a problem of download, my first paid game on steam i cant download. I agree, I have problems running and installing EA games and its all to do with Origin.
No more EA games for me. Origin needs a huge update to the modern century.. Wish i had more control over my Games section of origin as well like a sort feature a remove demo feature etc pretty much more info about our purchased games as well.. I just wrote a post rating about Origin.
I mean, at least steam will let you download, install, and play other peoples games If they let you. Unlike Origin. Help us improve Answers HQ! Take Survey No, Thanks.
